PETALING JAYA: After retaining Ayer Hitam in GE15, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has pledged to carry out his duties as an MP to his best ability to ensure a better future for the constituency.

Dr Wee greeted locals across several restaurants on Sunday (Nov 20) morning in Ayer Hitam, Johor.

“I met with voters and thanked them for continuing to trust me as an elected representative here,” said Dr Wee in a Facebook post.

Dr Wee also noted that his performance in GE15 was an improvement from GE14, where he garnered a majority of 2,963 votes compared with 303 in 2018.

“I will carry out my duties the best I can for Ayer Hitam’s future,” added the newly elected MP.

Dr Wee also thanked the entire Barisan Nasional machinery for working tirelessly in ensuring victory in Ayer Hitam.

“All of your hard work is greatly appreciated,” said Dr Wee.

Dr Wee also thanked the Election Commission who ensured that GE15 ran smoothly.

“Thank you to the security personnel, police, Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), the medical team, Rela, volunteers and everyone involved in the GE15 process, from nomination day till polling day, including the media that provided coverage,” added Dr Wee.
