Federal and state governments need to be 'in sync', says Johor MB

SEGAMAT: Having state and federal governments with different views from one another will place a burden on the people, says Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.

The Johor Mentri Besar said the government at both levels should be on the same page in prioritising the welfare of the rakyat besides ensuring that the economy continues to prosper through a stable and functioning government.

"The state and federal governments should be in sync with one another because there is a limit to what a state government can do to help the people.

"If the state and federal governments are wearing different shirts and do not have the same compassion and understanding, it will be hard for people in the state to get the needed help," he said at the 5A notices handing-over ceremony to Felda Pemanis second generation settlers here on Monday (Sept 26).

He said the people had given their trust and had chosen Barisan Nasional in 40 out of the 56 seats in the state.

Onn Hafiz said he hoped what happened back in 2018 would not occur again, adding that the youth should be wary of the Opposition's false promises.
