Covid-19 Watch: 3,429 new cases bring total to 4,741,413


PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 3,429 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Aug 16), says the Health Ministry.

According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 3,423 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 6 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,741,413 cases since the pandemic began.

A total of 9 deaths were recorded on Tuesday with 1 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,102.
