2021 was a very good year for Labuan Port, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The Labuan Port Authority (LPA) recorded a staggering RM5.3mil profit in 2021, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

"I am impressed with the achievements of LPA in 2021 where for the first time in history, it recorded RM5.3mil in profit since its inception in 2017.

"This is an extraordinary achievement especially in a pandemic situation," said the Transport Minister in a Facebook post on Thursday (May 19).

Dr Wee added that as the country is transitioning to endemicity, he called on LPA staff to continue working together as a team.

He was in Labuan for a work visit and attended the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration with the LPA management and staff.

Also present at the event were LPA chairman Datuk P. Kamalanathan and general manager Mizool Amir Mat Derus.

Earlier, Dr Wee visited Labuan Port where he said an upgrade of infrastructure would be needed to ensure the port's operations run smoother.
