SABAH will continue to experience strong winds in its eastern regions until Tuesday, with the increased humidity leading to potential continuous rain.

The Meteorological Department in a statement today said during this period, the peninsula will experience hot climate and less rain, especially in the northern states.

The findings are based on its weather research and forecasting model analysis, as well as the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast and Global Forecast System analysis.

The department issued an alert-level continuous rain warning for Sabah until Tuesday, and a first-category strong winds and rough seas warning for coastal areas in Sabah and Sarawak until Thursday.

A yellow or alert level indicates that continuous rain is expected between one and three days. The first category involves between 40km and 50km per hour strong winds, with up to 3.5m-high waves.

The department advised the public to regularly check its official website, official social media platforms or myCuaca mobile app for the latest verified weather forecast and information. – Bernama, January 16, 2022.
