THE Covid-19 pandemic has drastically changed the way we live. As we learn to adopt to the new normal by keeping ourselves safe, performing tasks that used to require our physical presence, such as banking, can now be swapped for a seamless online banking experience.

Based on the recent data from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), the internet banking population penetration rate has increased to 117.5% in July 2021, compared with 107.4% in July 2020 and 92.8% in July 2019. Meanwhile, the penetration rate to the population for mobile banking also saw an increase to 68.2% in July 2021 from 57.0% in July 2020 and 48.9% in July 2019.

The increase in both the internet banking and mobile banking usage in Malaysia is not surprising given that the pandemic has changed the way we bank, with more of us switching to a digital banking experience given the mobility limitations of reaching the nearby local bank branches.

In light of this, CIMB aims to constantly enhance its online banking platform, CIMB Clicks in order to deliver a seamless banking experience that is rich with features, be it on the web or the app.

Speed and security in your hands

Using banking features via mobile apps conveniently through your registered devices gives you quick access to your banking needs and information in the palm of your hands.

With the enhanced CIMB Clicks mobile app, you would have access to:

> More functions with the new swipeable home screen: Access important and smart banking functions quickly. The enhanced user interface (UI) nestles all the payments such as Pay Bills, JomPAY and Pay Loans and Cards in one single folder. Additionally, you can now also send Foreign Transfer easily from the mobile app up to RM50,000. For those who frequently use the Top Up function, are now able to access this feature in the main menu to offer faster access to top up mobile credits on a regular basis.

> SecureTAC (Transaction Authorisation Code) in menu: This handy and frequently used feature lets you approve your web transaction even easier and faster – Simply open the app and tap on the SecureTAC push notification to approve your transactions in a secure manner. As a default security measure, users are required to verify their identity on CIMB Clicks by submitting their credentials or biometrics before enabling the SecureTAC function.

> DuitNow QR: Apart from paying for purchases, you can now use DuitNow QR to transfer money to another person by simply scanning the recipient’s DuitNow QR code. Spare yourself the hassle of keying in and sharing lengthy account numbers with the integration of DuitNow QR in CIMB Clicks. To receive money, tap on DuitNow QR button in the mobile app to share your DuitNow QR code to the sender. Speedy yet safe, this cashless feature is accessible anytime and anywhere at your convenience.

With the CIMB Clicks website, you would also have access to:

> Instantaneous “Shortcuts” Navigation: The My Accounts page now includes a new section – shortcuts to provide faster access to the most used functions in CIMB Clicks, minus the hassle of navigating back to the main page.

> New E-Statement Page: The e-Statement page is now enhanced with a new layout that offers easier navigation. For those that prefer to receive e-Statement through email, you may simply go to the Services menu to request for an Email e-Statement service.

As part of the banking app enhancement, you can now get rewarded with fun gamification challenges. Try out CIMB’s exciting TapTapMenang Merdeka challenge on its mobile app where you can stand to win exciting prizes such as Touch 'n Go eWallet reload PINs and total cash prizes worth over RM200,000 from Aug 27 to Oct 26, 2021.

All you have to do is simply transact with CIMB Clicks and check your progress on the challenge page in the app.
