What’s next after SPM?

IT might seem a tad early, since you’ve just gotten your SPM results - but better sooner than later. That’s because choosing the right university is one of the bigger decisions you’ll need to make in life.

One of the best ways to discover your education roadmap is through open days hosted by institutes of higher education.

International Medical University (IMU), for one, is hosting a virtual open day on June 20 from 10am to 4pm, so why not just tune in to get first-hand information on how its internationally benchmarked programmes - in addition to its campus and available facilities - can pave your way towards finding promising career opportunities?

If you have any doubts or niggling questions, IMU’s education advisors will be happy to answer those pertaining to university life and provide information on a variety of issues, be it career advantages for different programmes, university applications, financing (including fees and financial assistance) and accommodation.

You can also learn more about available scholarships and bursaries for students with excellent academic results.

During IMU’s virtual open day, explore and experience the university’s campus through a virtual tour to get a feel of the campus and its facilities.

Better yet, you’ll get to enjoy the application and registration fee waiver of up to RM800 if you enrol into any IMU’s programme (except medicine and dentistry) during the virtual open day.

Register today at www.imu.edu.my/openday to join the virtual event.

If you’re a recent graduate, or a working professional looking to advance your studies in the field of healthcare, to help drive its future, IMU’s latest postgraduate programme might be right up your alley, especially with recent years highlighting the importance of healthcare in society.

A timely introduction, the IMU Master in Health Informatics and Analytics (MHIA) will start its first intake in September 2021.

Designed to suit the needs of future health IT specialists and data scientists, this programme will train the next generation of leading researchers and practitioners seeking to develop the most effective ways to organise, coordinate, manage and deliver high quality patient care and public health.

In turn, this will enable them to perform analyses and develop novel tools and methods for this rapidly growing field.

Don’t worry if you’re not from science-related fields, as the programme - either opt for one year full-time, or part-time - is aimed at students with diverse backgrounds and provides the perfect pathway for recent graduates, or professionals from various areas, who intend to move their career into the healthcare sector.
