Lance Corporal Stenley Blasius, 36, and Muhammad Rayyan John Abdullah, 30, pleaded not guilty to the five charges before judge Mohd Ghazali Mohamad Taib.
On the third count, Blasius and Muhammad Rayyan accepted RM500 from the suspect, also retrieving the cash from the CRM using the sister’s bank card. They were jointly charged under Section 17 MACC Act 2009 and read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code and can be charged under Section 24 of the same Act.
If convicted they could be sentenced to not more than 20 years’ imprisonment and fined at least five times the value of the bribe or RM10,000, whichever is higher.
