RAMAI ibu bapa tertekan apabila anak masih tidak mampu membaca biarpun sudah dua tahun belajar di tadika. Apatah lagi apabila ada ibu mula membandingkan anak mereka dengan anak orang lain dan beranggapan kebolehan membaca itu satu bentuk kebijaksanaan kanak-kanak.
Katanya, minat membaca perlu dipupuk dengan membiarkan mereka berasakan ia seperti bermain dan bukannya secara paksaan. Ini secara tidak langsung dapat membentuk kecerdasan intelektual mereka. Jika konsep yang biasa digunakan dengan memperkenalkan 26 abjad bermula A sehingga Z, kaedah Cahayaku hanya membabitkan 18 huruf asas.“Apabila kanak-kanak ini didedahkan 18 mimik muka yang mewakili 18 abjad, mereka boleh menggabungkannya sendiri termasuk untuk suka kata yang panjang. Pendekatan ini sangat unik dan membolehkan kanak-kanak istimewa membaca dengan mudah,” katanya.
Katanya, kaedah ini juga membolehkan kanak-kanak mempelajari dan memperbetulkan bacaan mereka sendiri. Ini secara tidak langsung dapat menukar sifat negatif kepada positif kerana mereka tahu kekurangan diri sendiri. Disebabkan keunikannya juga ada anak kecil sudah boleh membaca surat khabar seawal lima hari mempelajarinya.Menurut Cahaya, dia mendapat ilham membukukan kaedah ini selepas mengajar anak saudara yang tidak boleh membaca walaupun sudah berusia tujuh tahun.
