Man fined RM1,000 for forging CMCO travel permit

AN unemployed man was fined RM1,000 by the magistrates’ court in Kuala Lumpur today for forging conditional movement-control order (CMCO) travel permits.

Magistrate Puteri Nursheila Rahimi meted out the sentence to Muhamad Ihmad Erman, 24, after he pleaded guilty to the charge, and ordered the accused to serve two months in jail if he failed to pay the fine.

Ihmad paid the fine.

The father of two was accused of forging six CMCO travel permits at 11.30pm on October 26 at Jalan Conlay, Dang Wangi.

An officer from the Dang Wangi branch’s police patrol unit detained the accused after suspecting the CMCO permit was bogus.

Checks found several forged CMCO travel permits bearing the Gombak police station chief’s stamp in the accused’s bag.

Deputy public prosecutor Zuraidi Zulkifli prosecuted while the accused was represented by Zolazrai Zolkipli. – Bernama, November 2, 2020.
