Berpunca daripada kebocoran gas di kantin

BEIJING: Runtuhan bangunan di bandar Chongqing yang berpunca akibat kebocoran gas semalam menyebabkan 16 orang maut.

Letupan itu berlaku pukul 12.10 tengah hari dan dipercayai berpunca daripada kebocoran gas di kantin yang terletak dalam bangunan tersebut. Susulan itu, pihak berkuasa mengerahkan kira-kira 260 anggota dan 50 jentera keselamatan ke lokasi kejadian, selain memaklumkan punca sebenar belum dikenal pasti.

Satu video yang dikongsi dalam Weibo menunjukkan pasukan keselamatan memanjat serpihan bangunan bagi melakukan operasi mencari serta menyelamat . Seramai 26 mangsa dilaporkan terperangkap dalam runtuhan bangunan itu dan kepulan asap dan debu menyelubungi tempat kejadian di daerah Wulong.-AFP
