Dalam operasi selama sebulan bermula 15 April lalu itu, polis turut menahan 303 individu terbabit dalam kegiatan jenayah dadah termasuk penagihan dan pengedaran serta lima orang disabitkan dengan pelbagai kesalahan jenayah komersil di seluruh negeri itu.
Katanya, bermula Januari hingga semalam, berlaku peningkatan indeks kadar jenayah di negeri itu 98 kes atau 16.1 peratus berbanding tempoh sama tahun lalu. “Ops Mega yang berakhir semalam adalah operasi fasa pertama dan kita akan mengadakan Ops Mega 2 dan seterusnya bagi memastikan mereka yang terbabit dengan pelbagai jenis jenayah ditangkap,” katanya pada sidang media pada program ‘High Profile Policing’ di bazar Ramadan Gong Badak, Kuala Nerus hari ini.
