A police officer tests a driver for his alcohol content level at a roadblock at Jalan Hang Tuah, Kuala Lumpur last night.
KUALA LUMPUR: Eleven men were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in Op Mabuk and crime prevention operations at four locations in the federal capital last night. Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said the suspects, between 30 and 50 years of age, were detained in operations at Jalan Klang Lama, Hartamas, Kepong and Jalan Hang Tuah.“This operation will be carried out continuously to ensure that drivers are not on the road after drinking alcohol,” he told reporters at the roadblock implemented during the operation at Jalan Hang Tuah here last night.
He said 150 teams had been set up to monitor the premises concerned to ensure their compliance with standard operating procedure. “Some of these pubs have restaurant licences that allow them to also sell alcoholic drinks, but we make sure they comply with the social distancing order and close at 10pm,” he added.
Enforcement is superb, but d swift follow thru defeat it.
Make sure punish the sellers too. Bars, restaurants, oullets, pubs, shops etc. They’re part of the problem. They must be accountable for their customers behaviour MuhyiddinYassin
Wondering if operations will target ethnicity. Bangsa ini.... Check, bangsa itu.... Check, bangsa tu.... Oh tak payah. Why am I looking everything racially?
If operation is 100 percent... Like China.. They r afraid to drink n drive.. Why.. Ask our enforcement
