A DINNER led by PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali that will be held in Kuala Lumpur tonight is not an alternate congress, said president Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said he is invited but has another programme at his residence that has been scheduled earlier.

“There are talks that it is an alternate congress but that is not true. He (Azmin) has denied it.”

“I was invited for the Shared Prosperity Vision dinner.

“But I could not attend because there is another programme at my residence. Every Sunday, there is a prayer meet and dinner that everyone can attend,” Anwar told the press after the PKR congress in Ayer Keroh, Malacca today.

Tonight’s event has been dubbed the Shared Prosperity Vision dinner, featuring talks by PKR leaders who are aligned with Azmin.

They include PKR vice-presidents Zuraida Kamaruddin, Chua Tian Chang and Ali Biju.

It is also touted to be an appreciation dinner for activists involved in the 1998 Reformasi movement.

It will be taking place at the Renaissance Hotel, the same place where the then Parti Keadilan Nasional was launched on April 4, 1999. – December 8, 2019.
