A TOTAL of 1,710 police personnel will be on duty to maintain public order and security during the Tg Piai by-election in Pontian starting October 31. Johor police chief Mohd Kamarudin Md Din said among their tasks will be to guard polling stations and vote-counting centres, and maintain security on nomination day.
