I’m interested in embracing community and the interactions within it, and I tried to do this all with care and tenderness, maybe especially because this was the town where I met my wife and fell in love."I don’t know what post-industrial decline means. Caleb Stein graduated from Vassar with a degree in art history. He went on to work as a studio assistant for Magnum photographer Bruce Gilden . In 2017 he was shortlisted for the Burn Emerging Photographer Fund. In 2018 he won the Gomma Grant. In 2019 he was included in the Palm* Photo Prize which was exhibited at the Print Space during Photo London and was also a part of Labs New Artists III exhibition at Red Hook Labs.
He is currently working on a long-term, collaborative project about the memory of war with Vietnamese veterans and their descendants. His work explores community and the dynamic, energetic interactions that take place within it.
