Two killed in fatal road collision in Co. Cavan

The incident happened at around 7pm.

Gardai and emergency services attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a jeep on the N55, Ballinagh. The driver, a man in his late 60s, and the passenger, a wonab also in her 60s were both fatally injured following the collision.Both occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.A garda spokeswoman said: "The scene at the crash site is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.We'll be bringing you the very latest updates, pictures and video on this breaking news story.
