O'Leary, who hailed from Dublin, was only the third home-based player to win the Irish Open in 1982

Paul McGinley and Sam Torrance have paid tribute to former Irish Open winner John O'Leary, who has died aged 70.

O'Leary passed away after a long illness and McGinley tweeted: "More sad news in the passing of my friend and fellow Irishman ‘Jonno‘ O'Leary - always a dedicated follower of fashion and all round great guy - what a year 2020 has been so far...be lucky everybody in these uncertain times". O'Leary represented GB and Ireland in the Ryder Cup in 1975, when the tourists were well beaten by the USA in Pennsylvania.
