Ireland Headlines News

Northern Ireland is opening a number of mass vaccination centres in an attempt to give booster vaccines to as many people as possible ahead of an expected surge of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.

The biggest is located in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast where a former exhibition centre will administer jabs to 4,000 people a day.The Belfast one will offer walk-in and pre-booked appointments for boosters as well as first and second vaccine doses. From Monday, people aged 18-29 will be able to get their boosters as long as three months has elapsed from their second vaccine.

The requirement for a 15 minute wait after vaccination has been suspended, with the aim of increasing the number of people who can be treated daily.
