The soldiers sustained minor injuries when an Improvised Explosive Device detonated close to their patrol convoy east of their base in Gao.
It is understood that all three received medical treatment and the Defence Forces says they are "safe and well" and that their families have been informed. In a statement the Defence Forces said it conducts intensive pre-deployment training in order to prepare for such an incident.
