'The worst time of my life': Irish research shows lasting harm of LGBT+ 'conversion therapy'

NEW IRISH RESEARCH has recorded the experiences of individuals who underwent ‘conversion’ practices targeted at the LGBT+ community, finding that the measures caused significant emotional harm.

The study involved a research survey that heard from 70 individuals who were offered conversation practices and 38 who underwent them, with a smaller group of seven people who were exposed to conversion practices then interviewed in depth. The harms extended to spouses and children where participants had been encouraged to marry, the study found.

One individual described attending a “therapeutic program” that they were advised “would see you straight at the end of it”. They were told not to think about their sexuality, not to identify as gay, and to engage in stereotypical gendered activities, with one describing: “I was encouraged to go for pints with my dad and talk about sports to find something like that in common.”

Conversion therapy is obviously wrong. But I’m reading here about 23 academic papers and only 7 individuals studied. So how prevalent is it in real life.

This survey is bias and was not conducted properly. This is the reality of Trans, AGP men with sexual fetishes, saying they have periods and demanding everyone else plays a long or we're labelled Transphobes.

This study only surveyed 70 people and under what conditions? Using an anonymous online survey, not scientific. The increase in teen girls and children with autism identifying as Trans is alarming and is more social contagion than the mental illness body dismorphia.

Different is ok, force everyone like them or be them, is totally outrageous.

Everyone is quite happy for kids to be drugged & mutilated in the name of gender affirmation

Who would've thought?. And to think people supported this for 3 year olds. This has gone too far. en are men, women are women the only thing different is the personality.
