Teachers are “very fearful” and “full of worry” ahead of a return to school after the mid-term break, according to the President of the Association of Secondary School Teachers, Ireland .
When asked about the updated contact tracing system for schools that's set to be put in place, Piggott said that teachers would like to know more about how many cases are in their school. "We'd like to have more confidence in it. We'd like to ensure that all details are out in the open for everybody to know. Because even if there is a case in schools, teachers currently are dependent on rumours. They would like to know for a fact - is there one case, are there three cases, how much at risk are teachers and students themselves?"

Just close them already Well it still say students have no close contacts? Or that SNA’s who deal with children with intimate care needs aren’t close contacts of those students if they contract C19? Or that only pods need to go home in classrooms of 30 children. Cos all these things have happened. We’ll see. A lot more is needed than that to get spread in schools under control. Telling us that schools aren’t a huge driver of the virus is about as honest as telling us not to wear masks 5 months ago.
