STUDENTS HAVE CALLED on the University of Limerick to reverse it decision to add a second bed to some of the single rooms in its accommodation.
In a statement UL Student life said it is “appalled” at the situation and said the announcement came too late in the year to allow students time to find alternative arrangements for September. “Wider development plans are currently under consideration for new-build on-campus accommodation, however this will take some time to bring to fruition. The twin room option deals with the supply deficit while also providing an affordable option to many students,” it added.
UL said the option for sharing will be “significantly cheaper”, claiming it represents some of the cheapest on-campus accommodation in the country. “A maximum of two bedrooms within an existing six-bedroom apartment in four of the villages will be retrofit for the shared accommodation option. These will all be en-suite,” UL said.
Nightmare trying to have a tug in those circumstances. Its not fair at all.
Is that an actual pic?! Jesus you'd be gassed to death after a curry?!
Shared a dorm room with 7 more in schools and 3 others in college, or you don't get a bed... Can't imagine how lonely just yourself a room can be 😅 just me..?
Grim
Be grateful u have somewhere to sleep could be on the street
This surely is in breach of rights. You cannot make 1 bedroom two bed like this. Reminds me of first flat in London 1978 but 2020 this is scandal of profiteers. Let them listen to warnings for coronavirus now. Hotels for homeless ple w low immune is another message to beware
