A search operation has been launched after a fisherman failed to return to port in west Cork this evening.
The Valentia Coastguard was alerted after the man failed to arrive as scheduled at 6 o'clock.A search operation was launched and is understood to be focused on the Dunmanus Bay area.The Rescue 115 helicopter is at the scene, and is being assisted by the Castletownbere and Baltimore lifeboats, and the LÉ William Butler Yeats Irish Naval vessel.
