Gardaí responded to reports that a young boy had fallen into the river at the Bridge of Peace in Drogheda at approximately 10.15pm on Wednesday .
An extensive search was carried out by Gardaí and Emergency services into the early hours of Thursday morning, but no young male was located. The Irish Coast Guard and volunteers from Drogheda River Rescue and Recovery are also involved in the search.
