Barcelona's Samuel Umtiti reportedly turned down the chance to sign for Arsenal in January as he fights for his future at the Nou Camp.
But according to Le Parisien , Umtiti did not want to leave Barca, opting instead to stay and fight for his place. Barca now have only three senior centre-backs in their squad, with youngster Ronald Araujo filling the back-up fourth spot following the loan departure of Jean-Clair Todibo. Any transfer for Umtiti would have to have been as an initial loan deal, given Arsenal's lack of funds for a permanent transfer.
