Rugby World Cup organisers have cancelled Saturday's game between England and France, as well as New Zealand's match against Italy due to the risk from Typhoon Hagibis.
The fierce tropical storm, predicted to be one of the most violent to hit the region in recent years, is expected to strike the Tokyo area this weekend. With hosts Japan and Scotland still locked in battle for a place in the knockout round any decision to cancel that game will have a huge impact on the final placings.Tournament rules state that any pool game that cannot be played is not rescheduled and instead is recorded as a 0-0 draw, giving each team two points, with no bonus points available.
"Regardless of whether this typhoon will make landfall or not, it will make a grave impact," an agency official said. Japan, who four years ago became the first team to fail to reach the knockout round after winning three pool games, would go into the quarter-finals as top of Group A if their match is called off.

Bit of unfair advantage as certain teams will be better rested. They should have still played elsewhere, even if it's to a tv audience only in a small or empty stadium.

This RWC2019 turning in to a bit of a farce. Unless the viewing figures are completely skewed towards Far East is anyone watching this on this side of the world? And then locating it in Japan during typhoon / bad weather season - I how the sponsorship money was paid in advance!!
