Pupils at Prince George and Princess Charlotte's school are in self-isolation at their homes over fears they may have coronavirus. Two of the children reported flu-like symptoms following a trip to northern Italy, Mirror Online reports.

Thomas's Battersea said: "Like all schools, we are taking very seriously the potential risks related to the spread of Covid-19 and to this end we are following the Government's instructions to the letter on infection prevention and case management in which it is suspected that some staff member or students exposed to the virus or showing any symptoms.

Emails have reportedly been sent to Thomas's parents advising them that four children are being assessed for symptoms, such as coughs and fever. Two of the children had reportedly returned from a trip to Italy, where outbreaks of the coronavirus have prompted authorities to lockdown entire towns in a bid to stop the virus spreading. The Queen's granddaughter Zara Tindall and her husband will not be self-isolating following a skiing trip to northern Italy, it emerged today.

Authorities in Italy have reported that the number of people infected in the country grew to 322 in just 24 hours, and 11 people have now died in the country. A spokeswoman for the couple said they were following official Government and health advice, but as they do not currently have any symptoms they would not be going into self-isolation.

"Of course if you've been to one of the specific towns that are identified by the Italian government and essentially closed down, then our advice and requirement is to self-isolate anyway." What if pupils or staff become unwell? Call NHS 111 - or 999 if they are seriously ill or injured or their life is at risk - and explain which country they have returned from in the last 14 days.
