From today, anyone entering the country from abroad must provide details of where they intend to stay for the following 14 days, and they will be asked to self-isolate at that location

From today, it will be mandatory for all passengers coming into Ireland to fill out a passenger locator form.

Those who arrive in the Republic of Ireland and travel immediately onwards to the North will only have to fill out their name and signature on the form. "The Government is concerned that as we move towards the easing of measures, the risk of importing new cases through non-essential travel increases. The minister also said earlier this week that while it is mandatory to fill out the form, making it mandatory for people to complete self-isolation is "tricky, legally".

just say you are travelling to the north and no quarantine address required

Open Ireland Up....End the lockdown...Lets get back to normal... No more lockdown...We are sick of it... Open Ireland Up! Open Ireland Up! Open Ireland Up! OpenIrelandUp

A mandatory form for a non-mandatory quarantine! Tourists might as well fill in Farmleigh as their residence while they're here for all the difference it will make. Optics and a complicit media who won't ask hard questions.

How can we take anything she says seriously after LeoVaradkar cut the legs from under her? Only mandatory to fill in the form, then you can do what you like! No checks to see if you are quarantined

About 3 months too late

Why did this take TWO months of valuable time to implement? We let Italy skiers in. We let cheltenham in. Now we have one of the worst death rates per capita in the developed world. Only the Irexit, NP and Renua where calling for this at the time.

Too late, Cheltenham was 2 months ago.

How about picnics?

Best of luck African drug dealers and south American sex workers 👍🏻

They're really ramping up the safety measures now. First they handed people a form now they're making people write words too. Sure we won't need a vaccine at this rate. I take it back leovaradkar and finegael are doing a great job 🙄

Why can't we get tracing apps from other countries and require them to be installed on visitors smartphones. Oh right yeah, it's bc we've idiots running the country.

“Contact tracing” just went from voluntary to mandatory. Maybe this one doesn’t bug you but when “CT officer” is your door saying “Stay home for 14 days bec so-and-so at the restaurant you were at last week tested +” you might. “Oh, and the Garda will be checking.” Covid_19

How is this different to the declaration form that was being handed out at airports a couple of weeks ago?

Not good enough! Needs to have government oversight with all arrivals together at the same place, ie assigned hotel. As is the case in NZ

Pointless! How will it be enforced? No ones gonna check where those people are or if they’re isolating. Waste of time

Far too late

And if they don’t stay there? No sanctions, as far as I understand it. I powers of detainment etc. Toothless and pointless.

Any address can be put on the forms and agree to whatever, there is no way to enforce those guidelines

Do you know for how long this self isolation will be in place?

Two Months Too Late.. Anything can be put on those forms.. 😔

Why would you want to take two weeks holiday leave and sit at home for two weeks.

Rightly so.

We can't even police people letting dogs crap everywhere, so good luck with enforcing this.
