Concern is growing over Strep A cases in the United Kingdom after a ninth child is reported to have died after contracting an invasive form of the Strep A bacteria.
As cases of scarlet fever and Strep A sweep across the UK, several primary schools have made the decision to close.Doctors are being urged to act quickly in giving antibiotics to children with suspected Strep A symptoms to give them the best chance of fighting off the infection, National World reports.
The most serious infections linked to GAS come from invasive group A strep, known as iGAS, according to the UKHSA. This can happen when a person has sores or open wounds that allow the bacteria to get into the tissue, breaches in their respiratory tract after a viral illness, or in a person who has a health condition that decreases their immunity to infection. When the immune system is compromised, a person is more vulnerable to invasive disease.

'While infections like these can be unpleasant, they rarely become serious' A direct quote off the NHS website. So what's change? Lockdowns Vaccines Shut schools for 2 years because COVID might kill old people. But let's just let scarlet fever run rampant and kill children. Why is Strep A killing children in 2022?
