The vast majority of these fines – over 300 – were issued over the weekend for suspected breaches of the public health regulations relation to non-essential travel. The fines issued over the weekend will now be checked and processed. Once these are processed, definitive figures will be available later this week.

Since 11 January, gardaí have been permitted to prosecute breaches of travel restrictions by means of a €100 Fixed Payment Notice. Elsewhere yesterday, the Roscommon/Longford Roads Policing unit carried out an operation at Newcastle Woods, Ballymahon yesterday in support of the public health regulations.

If people don’t stay at home it’s just prolonging everything for everyone else who are doing as they’re asked. It’s not that hard, please don’t be stupid, just do as you’re asked.

When summer comes they will be fining people for going to the beach for some respite as the hotels and bars and leisure venues will still be closed. You are not allowed any fun or freedom in the New World Order New Normal.

How many paedos or wife beaters or drug dealers have they arrested in the same period? No longer the Gardaí, now the Kovid Kops.

Funny how the gardas have never fined me for going over 3 miles it must because they know I would go jail before paying any bullshit covid fines.

Honestly!!! Is this a money game.

And yet we have people coming thousands of miles into the country without any checks.
