Occasional naps may reduce risk of heart attack

Napping once or twice a week may cut the risk of heart attack and stroke, research has suggested.

Napping once or twice a week was linked with a 48% reduced risk of a cardiovascular event, such as a heart attack or stroke, even when other factors were taken into account

Napping once or twice a week may cut the risk of heart attack and stroke, research has suggested.

Of the people being studied, 58% did not nap, about one in five (19%) had taken one to two naps during the previous week, and about one in 10 (12%) had taken three to five.

Napping once or twice a week was linked with a 48% reduced risk of an event, even when other factors were taken into account.
