More Irish people have taken overseas trips this year - and the numbers coming here from abroad for holidays is also on the rise, new data shows.
And figures show that people visiting spent less time here between July and September this year compared to the same period in 2018. More people travelled to Ireland for business in Q3 of 2019 compared to the same period last year with 350,000 people making a trip here up from 333,000 trips in Q3 2018.
Visitors from the US and Canada spent the most so far this year, splashing a staggering €1.39 billlion during trips here between January and September 2019 - up from €1.36 billion spent in the same period in 2018.
