The American troops were on their way to Iraq

US Vice President Mike Pence has met US troops at Shannon Airport .

Mr Pence was in Shannon after his plane, Air Force Two, made a refuelling stop on its way back to the US from Italy. The American troops were on their way to Iraq and were also in Shannon for a refuelling stop. "You're going to be deployed to a part of the world that has seen some action," Mr Pence told the crowd. "But I can tell you ... Iran continues to stand down. I want to promise you, you’ll have the resources and support to accomplish your mission." The US Vice President also spoke about his ancestral roots in Ireland and mentioned that he worked in an Irish pub when he was younger. Mike Pence visited Ireland in September last year. His decision to stay at Donald Trump’s golf resort in Doonbeg, County Clare sparked controversy in the US with Democrats accusing him of funnelling American taxpayers’ money into a Trump business. Mr Pence defended the move, saying he has family connections in Doonbeg and that it was the logical place to stay. Read more: RTÉ News

Smiles all round. 😎 😡 teamphoto neutrality marketing Thank you for reminding us of his previous visit We were slobbering over the Obamas and now we are slobbering over Trump. We are sycophants. O.T.T? 🤨 🤮 And this. These types of useless headlines makes RTE look like a tacky tabloid with links at the bottom of web pages.

Neutral me arse We should be ashamed, helping murdering scum carry out atrocities abroad when we had the same atrocities carried out on us not so long ago. V. P Pence is not a nice man

US Vice President vists Shannon AirportThe American troops are on their way to Iraq and were also in Shannon for a refuelling stop You mean the American terrorists But I thought this was neutral Ireland🤔 Regardless of the idiotic pantomime that they don't carry weapons, Shannon is being used as a platform for US military propaganda, which will help result in countless deaths. Troops out of Shannon NOW.

Neutral me hole. They shouldn’t be allowed land here. Past time the US left Iraq and Syria also....Stop stealing the Syrian oil they need it for heat in the cold winter there..... All hush hush. I'm amazed we're not targeted by ISIS by facilitating this. Oi, what about our neutrality? Cannon fodder What’s that wanker doing in my Country ?
