Parts of Ireland will experience flooding as heavy rain and strong winds are set to lash the country.The alert for Connacht, Longford, Donegal, Clare and Kerry will be valid until 4am on Thursday."Localised flooding is likely as ground is saturated at the moment and river levels are elevated following recent heavy rainfall."
Meanwhile, a forecaster said: "Wet and rather windy today with widespread rain, heavy at times in west Munster, Connacht and west Ulster, with a risk of flooding."Feeling somewhat milder than recent days though, with highest temperatures of 9 or 10°C, in fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds, strongest along Atlantic coasts."Temperatures will drop to as low as 1C, on what will be a cold and frosty night in some places.
The forecaster added: "Further falls of rain into tonight, heaviest across Atlantic counties early on, and later across the east and southeast.
