After a wet and rainy June, many people are hoping for the summer weather to finally arrive onto Irish shores and Met Éireann has given us all hope on that front.The “Azores High” is an area of high pressure that develops over a subtropical region in the Atlantic Ocean. It contains tropical warm air and could bring summer heatwaves and higher temperatures as it moves over Ireland.
It will approach from the southwest, most affecting counties in that part of the country such as Kerry and Cork. Temperatures over the period are expected to average out around a degree below average for most areas and overall it is expected to be wetter than normal.
