Manna has teamed up with Ben & Jerry's ice cream and Camile Thai for its new drone food delivery service.

The world's first aviation-grade drone delivery "as-a-service" platform will start its operations next month from University College Dublin, via food ordering and delivery platform Just Eat. Manna said it will deliver to a large customer base with a sub three-minute delivery promise from vendor to customer. "This technology will transform online food marketplaces, restaurants, dark kitchens, and communities globally," commented Manna's CEO and founder Bobby Healy. 🍜🍨🍛 Manna is launching the world's first aviation-grade 'as-a-service' drone delivery platform next month in Dublin with Just Eat. "We look forward to working with regulators around the world as we bring this innovative technology to customers across the globe," he added. Read more: RTÉ News

curt2911 please can we look into this... start by end of day tomorrow 😂😂😂 ashalladice what you think? RTÉ I am not paying a licence fee for corporate marketing. I pay it for cultural, critical content which you usually fail to deliver. (I'd recommend ye all to check out TG4 and see the great job they do with a much smaller budget!)

saobhraidh13 this is what I was talking about Niamh_Gall101 Troub1edWall Because that's what needed changing in Ireland Why does my TV license pay for Manna's adverts? Is there no regulation at all? Utter horseshit This is objectively unachievable. What is their radius for 'delivery under 3 minutes'? what weight do they expect these drones to accommodate? how many drones will be in operation and how will the restaurant facilitate the landing and take-off of these drones?

Playing ads while being funded by my taxes? Is that it? Am i right? The kids will have a right time finding ways to get one in the sky. They be praying for wind Super to see such innovation. Gets cars & trucks off roads. Reduces supply chain costs. Opens up so many opportunities for regeneration of towns & cities for start ups. Brilliant!

Will require a change in the law. Currently operator must have Visual Line Of Sight to the drone. Over my dead body Are you kidding me? This is a fully paid up corporate video and you're showing it on the news, really disappointing This is going to be a disaster. They will be lucky to see any drones returning to them. Being abused and stolen, people will claim they were hit by them and then the problems with wildlife. Biodiversity is a huge problem already...this will terrify birds etc.

Will be great when we are shrouded in Coved 19 and can’t go out for food What about no fly areas? 😭 You just know that this is all going to go belly up.....

Gimmicky nonsense. But there is dependance on the Customer to provide accurate information about 'the final approach', the IAA have a strict protocol about drones' proximity to people etc. etc. This is some advertorial. I wonder can these guys deliver a few other things to Ireland. Our police can’t seem to do a thing about break ins & other crime but thankfully I’ll be able to eat my worries away. 🙄

This will last around 5 minutes before all the drones go missing Here RTE is this an ad? It looks like an ad How much are Manna paying you for this😂 How would a delivery service be anything other than a service? Hardly disrupting the 'delivery as a product' paradigm is it? Lahey92 How does this drone handle in wind 🤔

Drug dealers won't need runners soon Great name - Manna from the heavens 🍕🚀 That should be great fun. Plus the 20 mins restaurants prepare the food 🍳 Seriously 👀 Ah great ... but do they deliver to Donegal !!! I'll believe it when I see it.

Martin Ferris slams those behind grafitti supporting man accused of Lyra McKee murderVandals have daubed graffiti supporting the man accused of the murder of journalist Lyra McKee on road signs in Kerry. Pretty rich for Ferris to be giving out about people who show support for people accused of murder. The family of murdered Garda Jerry McCabe would find it hilarious. According to BelTel the shooters name is Jordan Devine

Wait for the claims culture to catch up. They seem to have got windfarms now. Thinking back fondly to days as a teen with catapults. This is doomed to fail, I'll eat one of those drones if it doesn't. People around the country still don't have access to broadband but dubs have drones delivering them takeaways?
