Love Island not axed after tragic ex host Caroline Flack took her own life

ITV have decided to cancel Love Island this evening, but have confirmed the series will return on Monday night with a tribute to the tragic former host

"After careful consultation between Caroline’s representatives and the Love Island production team and given how close we still are to the news of Caroline’s tragic death we have decided not to broadcast tonight’s Love Island out of respect for Caroline’s family.

“Whatever she said publicly, she told those close to her that she had in effect been sacked,” the source is quoted as saying.Caroline hosted Love Island and it's spin-off Aftersun from 2015 to 2019, before she was replaced by Laura Whitmore for the current series.

Mike Thalassitis, who appeared on the show in 2017, also took his own life in March 2019.
