The report entitled, On Street Food Services in Dublin, was commissioned by the Dublin Region Homeless Executive.
However, the review states that homeless services have improved especially since the Covid pandemic and that there is now a surplus of emergency accommodation which is available 24/7 and offers full board. The report found that users of soup runs are mainly migrant groups and include a variety of people including taxi drivers.
The report stated that Grafton Street, South King Street, College Green, the GPO, North Earl Street, Thomas Street were the main areas of operation. The review involved street visits, interviews with the four on-street groups, established homeless charities, residents in emergency accommodation, but not users of the soup runs.
We have to relocate all of them to a single designated place outside of M50 as they scare off local citizens & tourists. All normal countries keep their city streets clean from homeless, drug addicts, and anti-social elements.
Politicians and there cronies don't want to look at homeless when there out with there family's and fat cat mates over the festival period
Really ? Why does the general public need protecting from soup runs ? , being walking over homeless bodies in the early am for years in DCC . Seems to me the DRHE are f€&€ clueless on how to deal with the issue so attack those volunteers who try give some dignity to the lost.
Set up soup kitchens...again.
Authorities only care for themselves
