British PM Boris Johnson set for second night in intensive care

Mr Johnson is receiving oxygen support but is stable, in good spirits and breathing without assistance, said Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, who is standing in for the prime minister."I'm confident he'll pull through because if there's one thing I know about this prime minister, he's a fighter and he'll be back at the helm leading us through this crisis in short order," Mr Raab told a daily news conference.

But his condition rapidly deteriorated, and he was moved yesterday to an intensive care unit, where the most serious cases are treated, in case he needed to be put on a ventilator. However, the absence of Mr Johnson, the first leader of a major power to be admitted to hospital with Covid-19, has raised questions about who is truly in charge at such a crucial time.

Don't feel sorry for the elitist group that murdered millions of people throughout the globe over recent history. They are too arrogant to accept a virus or people's rights. Report on associations to current and historical pain that they feel immune to. Karma is a beautiful bitch

ToryFibs Hang on. If Johnson is only taking oxygen and 'comfortable' (i.e. not requiring ICU) is he not depriving use of that ICU bed by someone who will certainty die without it?

Downing street are saying he is still in charge of the Government which is ridiculous. He is obviously in no fit state to be.

ToryFibs Everyone else with covid deserves medical treatment more then this worthless slug.

Get well soon

And in other news healthcare workers are under enormous strain, we don’t have the PPE or the ventilators, jobs are being lost daily and we have a recession to look forward to. But as long as this Tory buffoon is OK... mlchealth

As UK fights coronavirus, Johnson in intensive careTonight, the coronavirus epidemic in the United Kingdom became very real. The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was moved into an intensive care unit at 7pm this evening after his condition deteriorated. Can not believe RTE blamed the fact that men smoke more than women for the reason why more than twice as many men than women are dying of Covid-19.
