The leader of Sinn Féin has said that Ireland's response to the Covid-19 pandemic must be subject to a public inquiry

Asked about the Sunday Times report about a proposed expert panel, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly insisted the issue had not yet been fully discussed at a government level. Asked whether the Government had ruled out a public inquiry, Donnelly told RTE: “That conversation hasn’t really happened at government level. What I’ve been focused on is the health services and what we can learn both in mistakes that will have been made, because of course we haven’t got everything right, but also in terms of things that worked very well, to make sure that we’re in the best possible position.

Live events and sporting events can now return to full capacity, while guidance advising limits on household visits has been removed and workers across Ireland will return to offices on a staggered basis from Monday.

Maybe an inquiry into what healthcare workers were and are going through due to occupational exposure longcovid healthcarecrisis socialcare healthcareworkers forgotten

Didn't mary say stricter lock downs causing more dup payments, layoffs, more debt to pay pushing asset prices higher and higher. Thanks for the hard times coming, ye made yer money, our freedoms and lifestyle gone forever. Ye let yer people down, never be restored. Inflation ⚰

Inquire into the disappeared, why she didn’t condemn Russia snd where is the apology to Maria Cahill.

I've said it before but isn't it about time Sinn Féin just changed their name to The Virtue Signallers or The Popular Policies Party? Not an ounce of free thinking among them

this was tit ular leader MarylouMcDonald at height of pandemic

FFS. We have one of the lowest excess death rates since the start of the pandemic. Enquire into that.

Well the government did make a balls of it

SF are a weak opposition in my opinion. They waited to see which way the wind was blowing on announcements before deciding what to do or say next. They spent 2 years on the fence......

SF wanted Quarantine for families Open pubs in Sept.2021. Populism as ever. No pandemic bonus in NI and yet all populist demands in South.

Micheál Martin has already said there will be an enquiry. Try again, Mary Lou.

It's just boring to listen to the constant bitching of SF about Leo and Michael trying to keep us all safe in the midst of the unknown and keep Hospital numbers manageable. She reminds me of Verruca from Charlie & The Cholclate Factory

Well, they didn't have much to say all along during the pandemic

What rubbish

The first question to be asked is where did the SF leadership go for the first two months of the pandemic.

Think Mary Lou should seek a worldwide enquiry as to how the world handled the pandemic. She might as well show her problem solving skills worldwide.😉🙃

Were abouts were the leaders of sinn fein when all the restriction were been brought in on holidays

The role of the media should also be subject to an inquiry

Quiet day in the office for mary lou

Pure poison

An inquiry would achieve nothing and cost a fortune. The money would be better spent on elsewhere

An evaluation would probably be more practical and effective and cost Irish tax payers less in legal fees. All Municipal districts would be engaged in providing feedback.

Equally, there should be an inquiry into the Shinner,s opportunism during the Pandemic. Always wise after the event. Will the Comrades be calling for an inquiry in NI, where they were in Government?

Perhaps the Government (or Sinn Fein) might hold a public inquiry into the treatment of Maria Cahill at the hands of SF/IRA members, particularly since May Lou is seeking a meeting of all Party Leaders to discuss the security of women following the Aisling Murphy murder.

SF where opposed to none of their decisions that puts them involved also

They say many things. Many contradictory with their past

yeah lads pandemic isnt over so Im interested to see what the govt does in about 2 weeks - who will they blame?
