The Minister for Health has said the number of patients in ICU will peak in "the next week or two" and the situation in hospitals will get worse before it gets better.

If a shopping-centre is very busy all the traders are Happy, if the health service gets busy it's a crisis, it never seems to be able cope no matter what money is pumped into it.I think it's time Mr Donnelly stepped aside, and let someone else take the reins, who can deal with it

As the Minister for Health, he has been totally inefficient. He is not qualified for this post. He was the easy choice. Our health system has been under pressure for the past 5 years. Not just the pandemic. HSE are undermined, treated like second rate citizens by our government.

You'd swear all along there was plenty doctors and nurses looking out the windows waiting for a sick person to come in. If you did come in you'd lie on a trolley for 2 days, if you got a trolley, maybe a chair and then you might get treated... Have people forgot this?

There should have been and still needs to be mandatory quarantine for incoming at the airports with the option instead to provide a negative test result followed by a second test within a few days! The vaccine rollout needs to be much much faster, use the army use volunteers!
It's under very serious pressure all the time. More pressure again in the winter and more pressure on top of that now with Covid. If they actually admitted successive governments have created an inadequate health service I think a lot of people would admire their candour.
Jus had the ice cream van around our estate surely he is not an essential worker and risks spreading covid around with kids flocking to the van and mixing together then going home unreal 🤔

It’s been under pressure for decades to be fair. Patients sleeping on corridors since as far back as I remember.
What he is not saying with that euphemism is that people will now die who would not have died had they been given ICU care, because there will be too many who need it and it will have to be rationed. Remember 🇮🇹?
