Very sad news

Grant Imahara, the former co-host of the popular Discovery Channel show Mythbusters and star of The White Rabbit Project on Netflix, has died at the age of 49.Imahara, an electrical engineer and roboticist, replaced original Mythbusters member Scottie Chapman in the show’s third season and remained part of the show until 2014.

He then left the show along with fellow co-hosts Kari Byron and Tory Belleci, with whom he starred in The White Rabbit Project, a show with a similar theme to Mythbusters that ran for one season on Netflix. Imahara was also involved in a number of well-known movies in his role as an engineer with the THX division of Lucasfilm, including Star Wars Episodes I, II and III, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson for the Discovery Channel said:"We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family." Imahara’s former Mythbusters co-stars Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Adam Savage all paid tribute to him on social media on Monday night.
