Gardaí investigating the murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods have strongly criticised the circulation of inappropriate images and footage on social media. |

The teenager was murdered and his remains dismembered before being left at a number of locations in Dublin.

Gardaí say they have not seen that footage but are checking with Keane's family following a claim this morning by a councillor in Co Louth that the video was sent to them. They have called on people not to circulate this video, which they said only serves to heighten tensions among the feuding criminal gangs and spread fear within the community. Gardaí in Drogheda have again appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Commissioner Harris has visited Drogheda and Coolock Garda Stations and assured the investigation teams of the full support of the organisation. He said Keane's murder, the dismemberment of his body and the dissemination of his remains represents a level of brutality and savagery completely unacceptable in any democratic society.

Supt Mangan said the gangs involved wanted to control parts of society through cocaine, and finance lifestyles through drugs and intimidation.Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan said he spoke with Commissioner Harris again today to discuss the progress being made in the investigation and said he is satisfied that those responsible for the murder of the teenager will be brought to justice.

I think gardainfo GardaTraffic & LeoVaradkar should make a point of getting this nationwide & in all schools to show kids/teenagers the REAL side of drugs. A proper documentary that teenagers will understand. Might make them think twice & save lives.

Very concerning that some people WANT to see the images and videos

Is it illegal?

We really need to get to grips with this gang feud. Extra resources, legislation whatever it takes. Very traumatic for all the first responders. If this was happening in Limerick the army would be involved!! Dublin is gone to the dogs 7 murders in 6 months!! Gardai clearly cant cope and lack resources, a special task force needs to be assigned to North Dublin.
