The posters were placed outside mobile home parks and holiday homes in Kilkee.

Image: Google Street View Image: Google Street View GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the source of threatening posters that were apparently displayed at different locations in a popular west Clare resort town.

The posters told holiday home owners to “f**k off” or they might have no holiday homes to return to when the Covid-19 crisis is over. Holiday home owners. Stay at home does not mean your holiday pad. We would like you to return to your home. Do the right thing, F**k out of Kilkee NOW! If you do not leave, when the crisis is over, you may not have a holiday home to return to this summer.

“This is not indicative of the attitude of the overwhelming majority of people in Kilkee. This is the action of one or two idiotic and attention seeking individuals. Local Fianna Fáil councillor and tourism consultant Cillian Murphy has described the incident as “a reprehensible cowardly act”.“This is shocking and not reflective of the majority of people here in Kilkee. I’ve been told they were also dropped in some letterboxes and I would ask those people to take them to the garda station and make a formal complaint.”

The guards are looking for ccctv.maybe get a handwriting expert in.better still get C.S.I to swab the posters.seems to be a lot of people fretting over these posters.😱😱😱

It isnt the f*ck off bit that's being investigated, it's the threat that their holiday homes will not be there come the summer.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

If any non-locals go to the gardaí to complain about recieving one of those leaflets, the gardaí should ask them what the hell they're doing in Kilkee, right before issuing the €2,500 fine. (Not supporting the threat of destruction of property but people's lives come first)

Surely this is a waste of resources

The Gardai should be putting up sign themselves.

Good on them, most rural counties have recorded a small no. of covid-19 cases and have small under-sourced hospitals. They don't need holiday home owners infecting their area. stayathome saves lives and that means staying in your primary address. CulchiesFightBack💪

100 percent agree with the poster putting the locals at risk the selifish morons

They are dead right. Old people in the town don’t need any extra chances of getting covid

Good. Absolutely no need for that guff.

Proper order (the posters that is!)
