Fine Gael's National Executive Council will meet in Dublin this evening to consider whether to remove sitting TD Maria Bailey from the party's general election ticket in Dún Laoghaire.
Ms Bailey has been in political difficulty ever since it emerged that she had taken a personal injuries claim against a Dublin hotel after falling off a swing. The stand-out item on the agenda is a motion from its Dun Laoghaire branch calling for an urgent review of the constituency's general election candidates. It is expected that the executive council will be given a recommendation from Taoiseach Leo Varadkar on how they should proceed with the matter.
