The last of the meat plant blockades has been stood down. Farmers voted tonight to end their protest outside Liffey Meats in Ballinasloe

Farmers who had been blockading the Liffey Meats plant in Ballinasloe voted to end their action tonight.

A leading member of the Beef Plan Movement addressed the meeting at which the vote was taken in Ballinasloe tonight. — Fran McNulty September 22, 2019 Local Oireachtas members Michael Fitzmaurice and Anne Rabbitte also addressed the meeting.
