Speaking last week, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said: “We’re still fighting this pandemic, it’s not over yet.“The purpose of the day will be a day to remember those who have been lost and to recognise all of the people who’ve done phenomenal work during this period and it just seems that it’s too early to make a decision on that given that this is not yet over.”
The Tourism Recovery Plan from the Tourism Recovery Taskforce has previously said among its recommendations that an additional bank holiday in the off-peak season should be considered.
Yes! great news! Oh sorry its not.. never mind all the GP secretaries that have been working our butts off for the last 22 months. Are we not considered health care workers
Ya estamos! ☘️🌈🇮🇪 Blue__Angel_
I hope the €1000 is vaccination conditional.
Wow that will be some bill. Approximately 72000 individuals employed in hospitals in Ireland. Thus, the bill will only be 72,000,000 Euro 🤐. Doctors and nurses do deserve it.
What about retail workers who worked all through this nonsense ?
Anything extra for the truck drivers who worked all way through it apart from changing drivers hours when it suits them
Only some healthcare workers do, my wife won’t receive it even though she worked with the most vulnerable through the pandemic
An extra bank holiday for whom exactly. The people who deserve it most will probably have to work that day.
This will never happen as it does not involve the teachers. They will want to be included in this and the centre of it all and they will ruin it for everybody. Just watch.
Doing absolutely no favours fir thoses of us who are retired and where every mons a bank holiday also not forgetting thoses people who are living off the dope and refuse to work 4 one reason or another
They should receive help, more stuff, not dirty money.
