Trump and other US officials have partly blamed Antifa for the violence at recent protests.

Image: SIPA USA/PA Images YOU MAY HAVE heard the word ‘antifa’ thrown around a lot in recent days in relation to the ongoing protests against police killings of black people in the United States.

The term is believed to originate from Germany in the early 1930s. Socialist ‘anti-fa’ groups tried to stand up to the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. The movement has no head or national organisation, according to a Congressional Research Service analysis. “If you ask them, they’ll tell you that they believe you have to deny any and all platforms to fascism, no matter how big or small the threat.”

Officials in Minnesota say their information points to instigators including white nationalists, leftist anarchists, and even drug gangs. In terms of inciting any violence online, as a decentralised movement Antifa does not have official social media accounts to organise protests or instigate violence.

The propaganda is on fire. If you like ganging up and beating vulnerable people to spread your contradictory believes you can consider yourself 'Antifa'.

Well if you are a gang of politically & ideologically motivated violent thugs that terrorize innocent people on the streets around the world, then guess what?.......... You are a terrorist organization, by default! This is not a difficult thing to understand at all. 2+2=4

It’s really dangerous of news outlets in Ireland being so biased and factually devoid as this and the fact the journal keeps pushing this story is even more alarming

Now for some real journalis Folks Timcast

They're radical far left neo marxi's, hell bent on silencing anybody that disagrees with them in achieving their communist agenda

I knew before I clicked on the article that it would be biased garbage.

Antifa are just as bad as the far right and neo nazis. They should be treated the same . They terrorise people, attack people and destroy property of you oppose them

Incidentally,...

It’s very dangerous to have articles downplaying the insidious nature of such groups like this, whether they align left or right, don’t make the same mistake America did.
