Graham Kenny, a partner at Eversheds-Sutherland, warns of a wave of insolvencies as state supports and creditor forbearance evaporate

An “artificial corporate wonderland” which has kept unviable firms alive following the pandemic is coming to an end, and businesses will soon fail in greater numbers, a leading restructuring expert has warned.

The number of corporate insolvencies and restructurings has begun to pick up in recent months following a period of exceptionally low business failures resulting from the extensive state supports provided to companies during the pandemic.
